We Say Farewell To A Legend!

We bid farewell to Manager Tom Piatek after 3 years in charge of Hambledon Reserves.
His management style is unique and proven at this level. He creates an unquestionable team spirit and belief that I for one have not witnessed at any other level in the game. His work ethic is fierce and he will leave no stone unturned when it comes to winning on a satruday afternoon.
For so many of us players he has brought back the love of the game. Every single player will buy into this methods because he is a winner, but if you don't apply the right attitude and application to win-he will be the first to tell you. In turn- Tom has the ability to put his arm around you but also give you a stern telling off if needed. This shows his versatility in the game which makes him such a great manager and man.
In his first season he just missed out on promotion after taking over a reserve side that had only won a few games the season before. Season two he went onto to Win the Divison 1 league title whilst having the best defensive record. He also guided Hambledon to the League Cup trophy. The Double was achieved.
Season three was always going to be a tough task. Not in Toms eyes. He set out to win the league, by taking on University of Surrey & Shottermill & Haselmere. He did that successfully only losing once in the league to Woking, who had those points deducted for playing inelegible players. League Winners. Hambledon also won the Invitational Cup by beating Chobham Burymead & they successfully defended their League Cup Crown by beating Woking 1-0. The Treble was completed. What an achievement.
Tom has shown passion, committment, drive and determination throughout the season to guide The Dons to victory, and hes done it with a smile on his face. No matter the league, the club or the level, to achieve this is incredible. Tom has helped create memories that all these players over the past 2/3 season will never forget.
We thank you Gaffa.
On a personal note, I have had 4 seasons with Tom and its been a real pleasure to be his Captain throughout that period. To have played in such a successful team and lift 6 trophies is something I will never forget. Hes trusted me and believed in my from Day1. Maybe our journey will continue- but if not you have been by and large the best manager and coach I have ever worked with and I wish you all the best in the future. There is no doubt you will succeed.
You Will Always Be A DON....
