Hambledon travelled to Lightwater Country Park looking to build on last weeks victory over Manorcroft. Captain Turner was off enjoying his Stag in Edinburgh with Tillyard and Kotecha - finable surely. But the Dons welcomed back Dudgeon, Louis and Max. With Joel and Ben continuing from the Ressies. And Aidan a late call up with the Ressies game off. Meaning the Dons were fielding 3 brothers in the squad for the first time since the Appleby's in the 70s. And had the luxury of 3 on the bench.

Hambledon started well and were on the front foot Lyall and Grover kept the Lightwater ball boys busy with speculative long range efforts finding the trees behind the goal. The Dons had the ball in the net twice but both rulled offside the second a very dudious call. Which Grover was more then happy to inform the Ref on.

It wasn't all one way traffic in a frantic first 10 with Webby called on to make a smart save and punch away a dangerous corner. But it was Lightwater who had the games first goal. A long ball wasn't dealt with and a cross into the box was headed home giving Webby no chance. The heads didn't go down and the Dons were soon level. With Cal finding Max in the centre he looked for support but kept going and unleased a long range shot giving the keeper no chance. He looked for the camera to celebrate but ah lass Grover didn't fancy trying to get the tripod in his car.

The Dons were soon infront when Kuda finished smartly with a lob after being found by Lyall. And they had a third before the break with an unlucky Lights defender slicing over the stranded keeper. The oppo seemed to be falling like flies with two first half subs.

Half time 1-3 Hambledon. Joe was introduced for Grover at half time. Lightwater were soon down to ten with another injury and no more subs. But this seemed to improve their performance against a Dons side still thiking about the warm changing rooms as the heavens opened. Lightwater took advantage of the lacklusture Dons and pulled a goal back with an excellent curling finish from outside the box.

Ben was introduced for the struggling Kuda and Aidan came on to make his debut. The Dons couldn't throw this away surely. The excellemt Fieldy had a couple of chances finding the side netting and seeing a Lights defender hook one away. But the Dons had the goal that put the game to bed when an excellent break saw Lyall square to MOM Louis to fire home and get the goal his performance deserved.

The Dons saw the game out for another three points as they look to climb the table. Next up they welcome Knaphill to Badger Park
